You can enter an IP Address or a name inside the purple field and hit return or click on the bell. The pinger will first check if it is a valid IP address and just ping it, if not the pinger will try to find the name/IP pair in the list. If the name doesn’t exist in the list, the pinger will try to resolve it from DNS.
Open the list. Press on the paper and pen icon or press ctrl + E. Hit it again to hide the list.
Add a new IP address/name pair. Just pres the arrow down and start to write the name and IP address.
Delete a listing by hitting ctrl + delete.
To close Desktop Pinger, press escape or click on the red button.
Desktop Pinger generates a text file named DeskPing.txt if possible. This file contains a list with the IP/name pairs. You can edit it with notepad if you want. Just make sure that Desktop Pinger is closed first. Desktop Pinger save the list on exit and will therefore override any changes made while it is running.
